AI and Strategic Sourcing: Two Sides of the Same Mirror

In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Strategic Sourcing are increasingly becoming inseparable. While they may appear to be distinct disciplines—one driven by technology and the other by procurement expertise—they are, in reality, two sides of the same mirror, reflecting and amplifying each other’s strengths.

Strategic sourcing has always been about making informed decisions: identifying the right suppliers, negotiating optimal contracts, managing risks, and creating sustainable value. AI, on the other hand, excels at processing vast amounts of data, identifying patterns, and generating predictive insights. When these capabilities converge, organizations unlock a new level of procurement excellence.

Traditionally, sourcing professionals relied heavily on historical spend data, market intelligence, and personal experience to make decisions. Today, AI enhances these capabilities by analyzing millions of data points in real time. From spend analytics and supplier performance monitoring to demand forecasting and risk assessment, AI provides unprecedented visibility and speed, allowing sourcing teams to move from reactive decision-making to proactive value creation.

The mirror effect becomes even more evident when considering supplier relationships. Strategic sourcing focuses on collaboration, innovation, and long-term partnerships. AI supports these objectives by continuously monitoring supplier health, market conditions, geopolitical risks, and sustainability metrics.

The human element remains critical. Negotiation, relationship management, stakeholder alignment, ethical decision-making, and strategic thinking are uniquely human capabilities that technology cannot replicate. AI provides intelligence; sourcing professionals provide judgment. AI delivers recommendations; sourcing leaders make decisions.

The future belongs to organizations that successfully blend human expertise with artificial intelligence. Procurement teams that embrace AI will spend less time on transactional activities and more time driving innovation, resilience, and competitive advantage.

As we look ahead, the relationship between AI and strategic sourcing should not be viewed as technology versus people. Instead, it should be seen as a powerful partnership. Like two sides of a mirror, each reflects and strengthens the other. Together, they create a clearer vision of the future—one where procurement is faster, smarter, more resilient, and more strategic than ever before.

The question is no longer whether AI will transform sourcing. The real question is how quickly organizations can embrace this partnership and leverage the combined power of human intelligence and artificial intelligence to create sustainable business value.
“AI provides the insight, Strategic Sourcing provides the foresight. Together, they reflect the future of procurement excellence.” –

WhatsApp is working on loads of features to enhance the user experience. WhatsApp was spotted testing the possibility to undo status updates for the beta users. This means that users will now get to see an undo option whenever they post a status on WhatsApp. The feature was spotted on the iOS beta app and has not been made available to non-beta users yet.

As per Wabetainfo, WhatsApp has rolled out the possibility to undo status updates on the beta version of the app. The feature would allow you to quickly delete a status update you have posted by mistake. Currently, you have the tedious process of tapping on the three dots to delete a status update you have posted in a hurry or by mistake. However, once the undo feature is rolled out, you can quickly recall whatever you have posted on the messaging app. The WhatsApp Status is similar to Instagram Stories, which remains live on the platform for 24 hours. Your contacts can view the status but it will not be visible to people who are not added to your contact list.

Along with the possibility to undo status updates, WhatsApp fixed issues related to new status updates. The feature has been made available to the iOS beta users, so for now, only iOS users can check it. In order to use the feature, users will have to update to WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.240.17.

“After publishing the status update, the option “Undo” will be momentarily visible: if you select it, the status update will be automatically deleted for everyone. This shortcut is useful when you post something by mistake, and you want to quickly delete it. This feature is available for some iOS beta testers today. If it’s not available for your WhatsApp account, it means it has not been rolled out for you yet and the next beta updates may help your account to receive the feature,” the report said.

Apart from this, WhatsApp is also working on the possibility to let users forward stickers quickly. WhatsApp has reportedly added a new shortcut next to the stickers, which will let users forward stickers without putting in much effort. The forward shortcut will appear next to the sticker in the message thread. You can tap on the shortcut and forward it to your contacts. Once the feature is rolled out, users will not have to follow the lengthy process of tapping and holding the sticker and then forwarding it to their contacts.

Realme GT 2 Pro will be among the first Android flagship phones coming later this year to sport the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Right after Qualcomm’s big announcement, Realme joined Xiaomi and other smartphone brands to show off its partnership with the chipmaker on the all-new flagship chipset. Realme said the GT 2 Pro launch will happen in December.

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is important because it breaks away from the traditional three-digit numbering that the company has followed for years. Similarly, the upcoming Realme GT 2 Pro is important for Realme as it finally sets its foot in the ultra-premium smartphone market, which has so far been dominated by the likes of OnePlus phones, Samsung phones, and Apple iPhones.

That could also be the reason why Realme is not waiting until next year for the launch of its flagship. Madhav Sheth, vice president of Realme and boss of India operations, announced that the Realme GT 2 Pro is coming this December, so clearly the company does not want to lag behind its rivals Xiaomi and Motorola.

Xiaomi is expected to reveal the Xiaomi 12 series on December 12, while reports are that Motorola’s next flagship, Motorola Edge X30, will arrive on December 8. Both Xiaomi 12 and Motorola Edge X30 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, too. And these are just two brands that have already confirmed their upcoming phones, besides Realme. There are high chances some other major smartphone brands will try to squeeze out their flagships before this year ends.

Realme GT 2 Pro has already leaked in renders, where it looked like a modernised Google Nexus 6P. The phone has a visor on the back that houses all cameras horizontally – a first for Realme. The phone will use ceramic and metal in the body, both of which sound like good ingredients for a premium phone that Realme is so ambitious about. Realme has previously launched phones with Qualcomm’s top chips, but they have been more about undercutting the stalwarts on the market. This time, Realme wants to go as fancy as it can, but the aggressive pricing is still going to reflect.

The December launch timeline sounds good, but whether it is for India or just China is not clear. A 91Mobiles report previously said the GT 2 Pro will arrive in India in the first quarter of 2022. Unless we get further information from Realme, it is hard to tell if India is getting the upcoming flagship this year or whether the launch will take place next year.
